Does anyone have any experience with the Palmetto AK47’s?

I have a gf3 blem unit and it’s been pretty good although recoils surprisingly brisk for an ak

I wouldn’t hesitate n any of their ak offerings

i had one. traded it in for another AR. my main issue i had with it was the side rail mount was installed slightly off which caused my Midwest Industries side mounting picatinny rail to tilt forward. "but it's an AK so it's supposed to be 'within spec'".

it shot great though. the small things get to me.

eta: might get the PSAK-103 for $699. i like the flash hider on those better.

Thanks, looks like a decent opportunity to step into an AK to add to the collection. I will keep looking for the right deal.

Bought a PSA 9mm AK pistol. It would bump fire on its own about twice a magazine. Learned how to kinda control it. Ended up selling it after about two months. It was well made....not a Saiga or anything but really decent.

I have a gf3 with about 3000 rds through it and its been solid. Got to shoot a buddies 74 in 545x39 and that thing is buttery smooth. I wish that cartridge was more available. I liked it better than the ar.

It is the dome shaped rivet that causes this. I grinded out a relief where the rivet hits on my Midwest rail mount and it locks up perfectly now. Other rail mounts may not have this problem. Haven't looked into it.

you may have to elaborate. the left or the right rivet?

red arrow shows the direct my rail was tilting.

The right rivet is the one that keeps the MI rail from locking down solid. I used a dremel to grind a small relief in the rail where it hits that rivet and now it locks down solid.

I'd personally hold out for a CHF chrome barrel on any AK. PSA has several offerings with in house and FN barrels.
