Salt Armour is my favorite brand. Salt Life, Buff and Columbia are either too thick or have a seam. SA also always has good sales.

They're always pushing those,
I have one, but I also have a columbia one I got for Father's Day and you can't really compare them. But I like to have a backup and you can't beat the sales they have on them.

And to the other point of the thread, they're not hot at all to me. I breathe just fine in mine. The only part of me showing is my hands and I want to get some of those fingerless fishing gloves. I don't want to worry about reapplying sunblock. It's a PITA and out on the marsh in a yak is no place for exposed skin IMO. I don't give a shite what anyone thinks. I'm protecting myself. I also wear the ugliest shoes on earth while fishing because they're super functional.

make sure you get the shirt and face shield that looks like clouds and sky. that way the fish won't detect you..i doubt they would see the boat or hear the trolling motor or power anchor either

Good thinking, it would go nicely with my White costa sunglasses.

Sweet. I wear mine when the gnats are bad and when I want a quick cool down.

ETA: And when I don't feel like putting on sunscreen.

There are a bunch of uses.

I've been using those Mission Enduracool masks. You wet em, wring em out, snap em and they make ya cooler,, if there's any possible way for that to happen!!

But seriously, check em out,,, the best of both worlds, better than JUST a mask.

Eta: Artie's a great guy and better than poop,, he was a shithead.

I still haven't gone to the mask, but my mother in law got me an Under Armor fishing shirt that's like climacool or something. At first I rolled my eyes because 1) Long sleeve shirts in the sun seem idiotic. 2) I kind of hate Under Armour.

Just got back from a week at the beach, and I wear the freaking thing non stop while fishing and just swimming. It keeps you super cool once it gets wet. I also almost always forget to put on sunscreen, so it's kind of awesome to just throw on the shirt and not worry about it.

Though I'm sure it's uncool here, I actually do care about my appearance. The fact that I'll overcome my aesthetic concerns to wear a stupid Under Armour shirt (which I think looks ridiculous) means that it must be pretty functional.

You care about your appearance while fishing? I mean, I care about my appearance when I go out to dinner or into the office, but I couldn't care less about what I look like fishing. I want my attire to be functional, convenient and comfortable so i can better enjoy the actual fishing. If someone paddles up to me and says "you look like a douchebag wearing that face mask" I'd probably just laugh. I certainly wouldn't question wearing it.

Dubya?

BTW,I agree with his stance on Buffs. The majority of the people i see wearing them are insufferable douches that do it just for FB selfie pics.

I only buy long sleeve fishing shirts. I'm either shirtless, or long sleeve. I don't want a ridiculous tan line. Only place that get's sunscreen is my legs, because I haven't found a pair of pants that I really like.

Only problem with a mask (especially in the fall or early spring) is that my glasses fog up badly when I breathe. I learned to cut a slit right under my nose to let the hot air from my breathing out and solved that problem. Like others have said, you dip those things in the ice chest every once in a while and it keeps you cooler. And keeps the gnats off your neck and face in the marsh. I love 'em.

same here. Started about 2 years ago. I now own every color long sleeve PFG Terminal Tackle made.

Bought the lady friend a new one before we went fishing. The ones for the women have a little raised up section at the back of the neck that covers most of the neck. They're pretty bad arse and i wish Columbia would do that to the mens shirts.
