Don't wear them often, but probably should more. I never use sunscreen. They have some pretty funny ones on that site.

The Free Fly apparel and Estrda Art face shields are pretty good about not fogging up your glasses. The free fly mask is my favorite but the Estrada art one is good too if you're not into the masks that are plain colors.

Big fan of the buffs. Don't really fish without one. Went to key west a month ago and fished all day in severe overcast weather and decided not to wear one. REALLY regretted it.
They work great dipping in the ice chest as well but I was recently given one of those frogg togg bandana things. I don't wear it but keep it in the ice chest and throw in on my neck occasionally. Those things are awesome too.

Pelagic makes the best long sleeves IMO. Really light with ventilated pits.

grown men make fun about another grown mans fashion choices.
The camo one would be great for deer season, dont need it for duck because I just paint the shite out of the parts of my face my beard doesnt cover.

exactly.. how the hell do you breathe through that damn thing when its a million degrees outside with a million percent humidity...

I only wear them when I go to the Keys to fish the back country. I don't want to get sunburned and then be miserable the rest of the trip and then flying back. Most of the guides down there wear them as they are in the sun all day every day.
I probably should wear them more. They are fairly comfortable once you get used to them.

I honestly don't notice breathing through it except when it fogs my glasses. Otherwise it really doesn't get that noticeably hot.

I initially thought the same thing but you don't really notice it.

I have a buff I wear in colder conditions, going to make an effort to wear it this weekend in Delacroix.

You care about your appearance while fishing? I mean, I care about my appearance when I go out to dinner or into the office, but I couldn't care less about what I look like fishing. I want my attire to be functional, convenient and comfortable so i can better enjoy the actual fishing. If someone paddles up to me and says "you look like a douchebag wearing that face mask" I'd probably just laugh. I certainly wouldn't question wearing it.
I was referring more to the fact that I now wear it when I'm hanging out on the beach just swimming with the kids, snorkeling, kayaking and such as well. I mean... with arms, abs, and pecs like these, it's a shame to hide all that from the ladies... but I'll make sacrifices for functioality.

I used to think this way. Until I actually gave it a shot. Now I don't go fishing without one. Got the Columbia Omni-Freeze and that shite is legit. I hate applying sun block. So, have a downvote.

For the record, it was a throw-away comment that I ran with when all you girls got your panties in knots. Wear your buffs, crocs and cargo shorts all day. Whatever makes you happy.

How do you keep that little triangle of exposed nose from getting sunburnt?

I've been wearing these for a few years now. If you've never worn one, it's easy to look at them and think they're ridiculous and yes, they do look like they are hot(temp) to wear. However, if you ever try one, you'd be amazed at how well they breathe.
I have a couple of the original Buffs; they were the first I owned and worked well.
Picked up a Mojo fishing buff at Bowie last year and found it to be lighter weight, more breathable and solved the Buff issue where you had a little spot on your upper chest that wasn't covered. (When wearing a button down)
Tried a new brand this summer: Simms Sungaiter
LINK
Really liking this one. . . it fits better than the other brands, is really cool(temp), and doesn't fog up glasses. I was skeptical about spending $30 on it, as all the others were always bought on clearance, but after a few trips on the water with it, it is money well spent.

Anyone tried the Patagucci Tropic Comfort Hoody or Sunshade Hooded shirt? Would be redundant with a buff, I guess... but I do love me some Patagucci.
Tropic Comfort one is nice because it has hand protection builtin as well.

Who actually gives 2 fricks of who wears what? You could be in a frickin big bird costume in the boat, aslong as you are having a good time enjoying the outdoors, who gives a shite...
