I need a new stator for my 2008 Yamaha Grizzly 700 FI EPS. Caltric has one for around $50. A RM stator costs $200, and Yamaha OEM is $375. Has anyone purchased Caltric parts before, and were they reliable or just Chinese junk to be avoided. They sell many products on their website, Ebay, and Amazon. TIA for the advice.

I've had a caltric stator, coil pack, solenoid, and cdi in my bayou 220 for a couple of years.

This may be due to me messing something up somewhere along the wiring but one thing I've noticed on the 220 and with caltric parts I've used on outboards is that if you wire them up the same as the OEM parts you won't get a spark. You have to swap positive/negative.

I have a 2001 Grizzly 600, it's in great shape for its age and I try to keep it running and reliable for a spare bike. However it seems to eat stators for some reason and not sure why.

It currently has a Caltric that has died after about 20 hours of use, I plan to go back with with a Ricky Stator. This probably doesn't help you any, but not sure if it was the Caltric or whatever else seems to kill every stator I put in this bike.

I keep a few 3 wheelers around to ride/collect. From experience, and most of the online forums, it's very hit-or-miss. May get a good part from the start, it may go out and the second one will last. But maybe you like to gamble

Caltric is probably the best Chinese knockoff parts you can buy. I have a Honda 300 fourtrax, which if you know anything about them they are bulletproof with the exception of the rear diff. I put a caltric rear diff on it 2 years ago and it's still working perfect. The caltric is the only option available unless you find a good used oem one. Their carbs seem to be decent for the most part. I don't know about the electrical stuff. If it was just a little cheaper, and oem was still available, I would go oem. I think it's worth the gamble to try it if it's $50 and oem is $200. Buy it on Amazon if you can, that way you have a real easy return option if it doesn't work.

It’s hit or miss. I had a caltric carb on my Honda 300 for a couple years. It seems to not take a “clean” as well as a factory carb but for 35 bucks I just got another one and if it lasts a few years I’ll be fine. About to put an caltric muffler on it too. It’s a good option if you don’t want to spend more on parts than what the bike is worth.

I wonder if you can put oem jets in a caltric carb? That might be the way to go.
