That's pretty much what we've been trying to tell them for a couple days now, but, according to a couple, you should go get the dogs and take them to the local pet shelter, or back to their owners with a Holiday Fruit Cake,,, and then go back to your moms and bury her racehorse and then stick your head in the sand and not say a damn word.... Personally, I disagree with this...

we have not been up there yet. a friend of ours who also has horses on the property confronted the owner about it. to the owners credit, he offered to put bullets in the dogs on the spot. problem was his kids were outside playing with the dogs. our friend didnt want him to do it in front of the kids.

the owner was told if the dogs were seen on property again it was open season on them.

Nowhere in your quote of the law did it say harassing. You can't ad-lib law. Harassing and damaging are two very different things.

i have a feeling if they get loose again they will be back. they now have the taste of blood.

those bastards were pretty smart. they ran the hell out of the horses. the horse they killed was kinda anti-social and did not hang around the rest of the horses. they got her off by herself and went to town on her.

I for one, definitely have not been saying this. I think if you go back and read the thread, no one said an aggressive dog could not be shot.

You may be saying that, but people such as bleeding purple claim they would shoot a non aggressive known pet after the third "interruption."

So this thread can continue for 3 days, yet I'm the only one that needs to drop it?

ETA: Not to mention I reply to more posters than him...

1) Would you shoot a collared dog under any circumstance other than attack?

yes with reasons

2) Would you shoot an uncollared dog that shows no aggression?

yes, with reasons

3) Would you shoot a friendly/healthy looking dog just for running deer on your place? With or without collar?

yes, with warnings, or reasons.

4) Do you feel you have the right to shoot another human for unarmed breaking/entering?

yes, you wouldn't know if he was armed or not...

5) Are you for the death penalty?

yes
lunchbox,,, this is what I said... YES to everything,,, with a reason! I would have to have a reason, I don't go around popping poodles....You wanted to argue about the intruder thing,,,,if you have an intruder come in you house and want to wait and ask him if he's armed and then throw your house slipper at him, go ahead... Your choice...

I got nothing.

I just think we've gotten to a point in this thread, that it should be anchored. No good has come out of the last......22 pages.

I didn't want to argue about it, I just said you may end up in jail for it.

I'd most definitely have an itchy trigger finger if someone broke into my house.

My response to you above was just to clarify us "non shooters" would in fact shoot dogs under certain circumstances, which you didn't give us a credit for.

with an addition of, a sarcastic "would you feel good about that", referring to shooting a home intruder... Make up your mind....

Seriously, the good doc has mangled every form of logic and reasoning. The concepts he tries to connect cannot be connected.
