No

I do dove hunting though. Thinking about getting some electronic ear muffs. Left ear failed a hearing test recently

Yes, and I recommend everyone do so. I did not for 20 years until the early 90s, but, I swear, my hearing has actually improved since I did.

Friends of mine who have not used plugs during the same time period have far worse hearing than me.

I used to just wear simple ear plugs, but couldn't hear a damn thing going on around me. Now I don't wear any.

My biggest thing is I like to hear when I am calling. Dove shooting I will wear them and I will put them in before I shoot for deer/hog.

My old man isn't even 60 yet, he has pleaded with me to wear ear protection every day afield. He's had some serious hearing loss from shooting guns.

Agree it's more difficult with plugs, but you kinda get used to it after a while and learn when your sound is right despite the plugs. And it really does save your hearing, at least in my experience.

It saves your hearing and it isn't debatable. Not wearing it, ESPECIALLY when high volume shooting is likely, is stupid.

Sometimes I do. These are what I have been using

I had the walker game ear and they just pissed me off to the point that I stopped wearing. I got these for xmas and plan to use at the range for sure, and maybe the blind too.

I have a pair of those, trying to push those lil flaps in when birds come in out of nowhere is a pain.

I could be wrong but I think the flaps are intended for indoor range shooting etc where you arent concerned with hearing everything. If you leave the flaps out they still reduce by 20-30 dB above a certain level or something. Definitely makes a difference

I use ESP plugs. Fitted to ear canal with a wax mold. Amplify tegular sound and cuts off when u shoot. So no pb hearing yourself call. Use them religiously the last 3 years. Ears havent rang since. Pricey, but worth it

Looks pretty legit. But they sell a non-electronic plug for $200...imho I'm not convinced they would be THAT much better than a properly inserted disposable pair

Tight's got the idea. I don't put the flaps in unless I'm sure of the shooting and don't need sound. They are still affordable, comfortable and reduce a good bit of blast

Pit blinds and no. I can't tell you how many ducks we've killed by somebody hearing them before anyone saw them. Sometimes it's a single quack. Sometimes it's the f-15 sound of pintail. Sometimes it's the first teal of an always disorganized group.

It's the gun of the guy next top you that is the loudest.

Also, indoors shooting should be both plugs and muffs.
