I've never done any upland bird hunting, but it's something I'd like to try someday. Probably won't be something I do very often though as long as I'm living down here.

I used to do nothing but deer hunt with an occasional duck hunt. I got my shorthair to hunt ducks and somehow fell into upland hunting. I realized that I loved to be in the woods, but hated sitting in a deer stand (get up early, cold etc) The shorthair pushed me into upland hunting and I haven't looked back. It is not a meat haul, but... As long as it is cool for the dogs I can hunt early, late or in the middle of the day. The dogs always want to hunt and I can hunt alone or with friends. It works well for me. I still love a dove or duck hunt but have no desire to hunt deer, or other big game…

I like deer hunting. Never did much public land but on a lease it's sort of like a long drawn out chess game over the entire season. Lot of strategy goes into it, even though it's usually just luck. I enjoy that aspect of it. I love dove hunting, it's just two totally different types of hunting. I haven't duck hunted, but plan on doing some next season. Who knows, maybe I'll get obsessed with that next

I want a .338 Lapua. Affordable (reasonably) and you can reach out and touch something from a long way away. Some of the longest sniper kills have been with a Lapua.

Ok. I like the Colt SAA, and 1911s and Pythons, but the ultimate firearm would not be a pistol.
I cast my vote not far from the M1A. The M14.
Its full auto capability, long range accuracy, and .308 caliber says "Don't F with me at long range, or close combat." Pluss it's still a wooden stocked weapon and a classic.
BTW; Honorable mention goes out to all those fine English made doubles, whether it be rifle or shotgun. I will own a semi-fine double one day, and hunt with it.

The most ultimate, coolest best gun I've ever owned: (was on my side, or in a zip-loc bag trying to stay dry, the whole time I was riding out Katrina in Slidell)
Colt Delta Elite, First Edition 10mm

This is the only class of guns where I would rather it be forein than American. Our American doubles are big and heavy mostly.

I am going to back hand every one of you frickers that said a piece of shite Taurus.
For fricks sake.
My vote would be anything that John Moses Browning designed. The 1911, Hi-Power, M2, and on and on and on.

I love how it's built as a 100% clone to the original, down to every single little detail.
For about 5 grand you can have one of your own

Yea that is an assload of money to spend on an ornament. It's not like you're going to carry an original GI duplicate, much less a $5k one.
I really don't see how you can make it cost that much without sticking precious metal in it, but it's a very fine gun either way.

I agree completely. But back to the guns, a British double is on my list if I ever have 20k to throw away
