You’re not getting the new merc now unless it’s bolted to a new transom. Find a Black Jack 224 or 256 somewhere to buy. Calling Bill Kenner at K2 might be easier than searching dealers. Metro in Metry is a K2 dealer I believe.

Not flashy but reliable and lot of torque.

It's what I would buy, but I'm not hauling arse on the water either.

I got a buddy in South Texas that just listed a brand new Merc V8 225 ProXS 20" shaft for sale, comes with all the rigging and prop for 19,5k.

I have several of the regular 250 and 300 v8's I'm pretty sure they're all DTS control motors. The ProXS is hard due to its use on nearly every bass boat in production. Motors can be bought they're just not easy to find.
