Transducer Mounting with Pods

Hey all, picked up a "new" aluminum rig.
18' Xpress with float pods. PO was an older guy that didn't use electronics ( and probably caught more fish on the boat than I ever will)
Where are y'all mounting transducer? I've seen some say on the jack plate?
And some on pods, some near motor. I'm not sure where to go with it.
I mainly use it for GPS, temp, and depth when idling around. Don't need to read at 35mph.
It's a hyperlift hull if that matters. I don't know how to attach a pic.
