Just remember that after you make an adjustment to give the sight a good rap with your palm. This will set the sights in. If you don't your first round will be where it was before you made the adjustment.

More worried about tritium burn out that anything. Has anyone ever experienced this.
Not in my experience.
I don't know the science behind it but I'd imagine more than 10 years.

I've never heard anything negative about Trijicon.
Lifespan is around 12 years for Tritium.

Please dont do this.
Well maybe for cheap shite, but definitely not quality optics. If it doesnt move, send it back and get it fixed.

I've been told this since the day they came in the Marine Corps. Could be false. Just the way I was taught to do it.

I have an aimpoint pro now & I want something with magnification, something I don't have to buy a magnifier for.
I have an Aimpoint PRO as well and I agree that it's a close-range sight. If you want to keep weight and bulkiness down, you won't want to get a magnifier setup as it adds both.
I have a Trijicon RMR on my M&P CORE that I can give very positive feedback on. I have no experience with the ACOG but the RMR is so ridiculously solid it is amazing. It is machined out of a piece of solid aluminum and the glass is about 1/4-1/2" thick. I can rack the pistol off a table, off my belt, anywhere, without affecting the zero of the sight. It is truly worth the $500 price tag.
So with that, I would say if the military trusts Trijicon and with my own personal experience, I would say it's worth it.

Where did you get that Slide Milled out from?
FN is the only pistol I've seen made for RMR's

The M&P CORE (competition optics ready equipment) comes with a pre-milled slide. They released it in January 2012 at the SHOT show.

Just really skeptical about spending trijicon money on a 12yr life span. Will the fiber optic still gather light & illuminate the reticle if the tritium burns out in 15 yrs
Posted on 12/17/13 at 10:12 pm to Cwar11
Nope, never any problems. it's accurate to a little over 100 yards. Any error at that point is probably from the AR

I honestly don't think fiber optic ever goes bad. Plus the fiber is contained in the sight and not exposed to the elements. So I would say yes.

It's half-life is 12+ years. That means in 12 years it will dim a bit, then in another 12 years it will be more dim, and so forth. They warranty the lamps for 15 years but there is enough tritium to keep them usable longer than that. They will also replace the tritium light source outside of warranty for less than $200. I have a few old Army field compasses that were made in the 1990's and still glow enough to use.

Good info, makes me a lot more comfortable dropping the trijicon coin on it.

I have one watch that is 8yrs old, and it still glows pretty damn well. My watch from 1984 has absolutely no illumination, and I mean zero, from the tritium vials

Geaux with an Eotech. Trijicon is overpriced. I want an RMR on a HK USP though.
But an ACOG and a Holographic sight are not the same thing. This is not an apples to apples comparison.

As I stated before, I sold my aimpoint due to the fact that it did not have magnification & I don't want to add a magnifier to my rail.
Aim point pro- $400, AP or eotech magnifier-$450-500, that 850-1000 depending on if I buy locally & pay tax or order on internet with no taxes. With a few more bucks I can buy the trijicon. I will be getting the Triji today
