What's the law for carrying a pistol in Louisiana ?

I was watching Louisiana Law when a guy came out of the woods with a pistol in his hunting jacket pocket.
That short female Warden told him as soon as you put it in your pocket, or waistband, it's a felony.
I've noticed Stone, on Duck Dynasty, carries on his belt, so is inside illegal but out is not ?

Only in certain conditions. If you can legally possess a handgun you can legally carry it concealed in Louisiana with a few exceptions.

Those shows could be old. Louisiana is now a Constitutional Carry state. You can carry inside or out now.
WMAs and NWR may have different rules and regs so better follow up on those.

Open carry has always been legal. Law just changed last year to allow everyone to conceal carry, no permit required.

I think they changed the law that allowed for carrying larger caliber handguns during non rifle season back around 2012. Used to be only a .22ish before. I carry a 9mm Hellcat with me anytime in the woods.
