My 2015 syncs to my iPhone and utilizes Bluetooth for texts, calls. No need for Onstar if you don't want it. Truck has all sorts of magic shite. I'm not necessarily sold on all of it, but it's there if that's your thing.
What about navigation, do you need onstar for that?

yes, or so I was told by the salesman at the dealership. but I use my Iphone for navigation anyway so it isn't a factor for me personally.

Only if you want "turn by turn".
Regular Nav works w/o OnStar.

i thought regular nav was turn by turn? you have to subscribe to Onstar either way, right?

Some of the new ones ride like a Cadillac. I went from lifted Tacomas, to an F250, and now a 2500HD gas. This one rides better than all of my previous ones

Vocal turn by turn is what you get w/ OnStar.
Fairly certain regular nav with visual turn by turn works w/o OnStar.
Been about a year or so since I've fooled w/ it, but that is what I recall.

Yeah, does it vocally say your turns upcoming, if it's just visual unless you subscribe to onstar, that would seem to be worthless, and a distraction.

I'll stick to Lexus

GM trucks are pretty rough.
(And plasticy)
My 2011 Z71 Sierra was the roughest ride I've ever had, and I've had several GMs dating back to the early 90s Silverado.
Plus, the interior was atrocious and full of plastic. I had an SLT and it still felt like a work truck.
It was night and day from my dad's King Ranch.

I mean, they're not really that far off in terms of where they are in their respective trim levels. The next step up is what, Denali?
The new SLTs are definitely on par with the old King Ranch and Lariat as far as aesthetics and quality, but the interior of the 07-13 SLT was a joke.

I can't fit a good deer in the trunk of Mrs Cove's Lexus without having to clean the carpet afterwards.

They were/are several thousands of dollars apart.
If you're looking for a luxury interior, I don't know why you'd be looking at an SLT. When I bought my 2014 Denali, it was easily the best interior available in a truck. I haven't been in the newest F150s, so I can't say if that's still true.

Speaking of, that built in wifi campaign is stupid. Requires data plan PLUS OnStar. Frick chevy.

Meh, I've looked at the new SLTs and the new Denalis, and I quite frankly can't tell much of a difference.
In terms of overall interiors, the new F150 is beyond anything I've ever seen. My dad's 2015 KR has back massagers in the seats, the 360 backup camera, and the lumbar support is fantastic. He's actually starting to get annoyed with it because he says it has too much technology in it.
