Written landowner permission and a plat map submitted to lead. It's a dumb rule for sure. I'll prolly just bow hunt them during Feb lol

Night shooting during hunting season would be stressful for the deer herd. It's the only break they get.
I don't know how the permitting process works, maybe it's easy to get?
Fine, but why wait a whole month after Deer season? I have at least 10 hogs per 1 deer. Those SOB's need to be taken out. Then it gets too hot and the mosquitoes get too bad to hunt. Let me hunt in February. It's not public land anyway.

That thing gonna have a motion sensor, or just stay on all the time?
My thought is to have it on all the time. Switch it on at dusk and hunt that night. LEDs don't pull a lot of juice. A feeder battery would be sufficient for the whole night easy. Like I said it's more of a "we're going hunt pigs on X stand tonight setup"

I've got 2 blind side motion sensor feeder lights that I will put out end of January and I'm ordering a couple sets of solar powered green lights off Amazon. They are yard lights that people use for Christmas decorations but will work perfect for hog hunting.

I just turned in our club's outlaw quad night take application. It is somewhat annoying, but hoping I get it back approved asap. I made my first thermal hog kill (during the day) two weeks ago and am itching to hit them at night. This was the 6th pig I've killed in just a few outings this season. I am averaging 1 pig kill to every 2 hunts in Winn Parish. They have gone nocturnal now so we've got to keep the pressure on at night.

I'm working on my permit now. Sent Weyerhaeuser an email today

What brand feeders do you have? Friend of mine uses Moultrie and these lights mount directly to the feeder motor and work! We've killed numerous hogs under his feeders at night.
Does mounting them under feeder assure they are protected from rain? I ask cause I had one- and it worked- until it rained in it.

Why not just use a green light attached to your gun/scope? Seems like it'd be a lot easier and probably more effective to do this as opposed to buying green lights for feeders, wiring lights to power source, keeping lights dry, avoiding damage to lights by game, etc. Seems like a decent green flashlight would provide a brighter and more effective light for shooting purposes than would lights attached to the feeder.

I have that too, First time (only time) I turned it on the pig spooked and left. The other lights can be left so pigs can get used to them. Just a matter of efficiency.

While someone is talking of hogs, about 5 times lately- I have spotted a herd on I-49 south of Alexandria. About 200 yards north of mile marker 44 of the western side of road. Everytime about 30 min before daybreak. I need them dead, they are bothering me and laughing at the Alexandria hunters.

I've had good luck in the past hunting hogs using a Stalk Tech laser designator.
