Lots of people make blue ice. Yeti just makes their's tough looking and charges 5x the normal price. LINK

I was going to buy some but decided my igloo with garden hose hinges was likely worth less than the blocks.

They really have gone all out copying every product of Yeti, lol. Was surprised by their glass offerings they have now.

I don't use the 30 dollar yeti ice but I do use blue ice
line the bottom of the yeti with it and put ice on top and it will keep the ice frozen for days at the camp even in summer

eventually it melts but it cuts ice consumption down in half at least
dry ice also works but it freezes everything in the ice chest

Oh shite... it's true. My brother gave me a yeti koozie for Christmas. My wife went to a conference and came back with a yeti hat. The boat I just bought came with a big yeti cooler. I'm doomed!

No better than an igloo ice chest at 1/3 of the cost. Yes, a Yeti will keep ice longer than any other ice chest, IF you never open the lid. If you use it for grabbing a beer out the ice chest every 5 minutes, your ice will melt just as fast as a much cheaper ice chest.

$300 for a Yeti ice chest or $50-$100 for an igloo. I dont know about you but where Im at I can buy 20lbs of ice over 100 times with the savings alone.

Its a brand name to justify the cost and slap a YETI sticker on your truck. Its not worth the price at all in reality.

Should I have asked the previous owner for his yeti sticker?

I have a couple yetis and don't plaster stickers all over the place nor wear a hat - I am not sure why everyone on the OB worries so much about how other people spend their money, my yetis have been the best coolers I have purchased they have lasted longer and haven't needed parts replace every year.

Put your Yeti/Engel/RTIC/other thick insulated cooler on the front of your boat as a fish box in the middle of a Louisiana summer and put 10lbs of ice in it. Do the same with some $50 Igloo. See which one has ice at the end of the day .

I couldn't care less what people do with their money. Yeti products are absurdly expensive, and yes, you pay extra because it says "Yeti." I have two and I've had them for several years. I use the 65 as a fish box and the roadie was a gift that I use for beer. There are always those who will imply in some way that products like Yeti don't work because it makes them seem edgy and against the grain, which is a little ridiculous considering how well the products actually work.

Definitely worth every penny. These are better than the Yeti tumbler if that was even possible.
