Ya, but that's not what the Act says (I think). I'm not arguing the point that the current interpretation of the eligibility rules allow for Cruz to run, I'm talking about the 1790 Act which I think states both must be citizens. This may have changed later.
Goldwater and McCain both were in the same boat being born on "foreign" soil. Goldwater a little less so. Always interesting.
I was born abroad and I remember growing up thinking I couldn't run until I got older and read all about this stuff.
