Interesting. Easily 75% of the people I hear say they want him gone, whether impeachment or election

Per usual, we don't believe you

People either love or hate him. But he will win next election, which is why this impeachment happened in the first place.

There is no way 50% of the population thinks an election should be overturned solely because they don't like the guy.

I'd like to think a fair number of those on the left still have a modicum of respect for the constitution.

They don't think of it as overturning an election but the ridding of a president that was elected through illegitimately means, and who now that he is president is corrupt and breaking the law in pursuit of personal interests.

I keep seeing this stat out there in polls.

Where are these people? Nobody I know (including people who didn’t vote for him) is saying this. Granted, they may be hesitant to say it in front of me, but I just don’t hear anybody in real life even talking about this whole thing at all.

If it were true, the Dems would not be worried about trying to remove this president. They would allow him to be removed come November. They know it isn’t true because they are starting to worry about Biden having to testify. They know all will be outed if witnesses are allowed.

As others stated, it's based on sample size and location of where the polls are measured.

The other thing to notice is the population density and self segregation of society. Large urban areas have more people than rural areas. So there may be more people in a region who do agree with impeachment, but that's contained to one area. Republicans are typically more spread out.

People tend to live around people who think like they do. So the addage "nobody I know," isn't relevant to either side of political spectrum since your most likely communicating with people who think the same politically.

It's not an accurate stat. But, the bar for impeachment should be waaaaay over 50%, anyway.

bet they took the 50/50 poll in NYC. Go take it in middle America and see the difference.

i bet not.
And im sure you would too.
Exaggerate much?
I bet its more like 70% in nyc.

But i got onto this thread to point out that the only polling that matters is in states where gop senators are running in 2020.

6 or 7 senators in purple states. Those ones are reading polls, right now.

What % of ind and gop want to hear witnesses in my state?

Thats the question of their day.
