It's felony murder because of the assault.
Arbery was confronted with lethal force. He defended himself with non lethal force. His assailants responded with lethal force.
One of you folks explain to me how in the actual frick the assailant with the shotgun can claim self defense. I'll hang up and listen.

I agree. They set up a road block with shut guns drawn. Either you’re gonna try and run (if possible) or defend yourself. He chose to defend himself and they chose to shoot. That is called murder.

you're right, but anyone who disagrees with you was lost long before this story broke.

Should I feel guilty for not caring?

You think the DA overcharged the case. I believe he did. I also believe he did it knowing he doesn't have what it takes to prove murder. The jury will then either:'
A. acquit on the murder charge (defendants walk if jury only has murder as a option)
B. convict on the lesser and included charge of manslaughter.

Kinda looks like a hammer to me.
Looked like one in the video, but the video was very low resolution. The actual video on the phone is HD so the entire sequence of events will be much clearer. Then we will know if there was a hammer or not.
Of course, if it was a hammer, that won't explain why he was jogging with one.
why do people shoot video with the phone held upright.

I don’t understand why people get wrapped up in something that doesn’t affect them....

One day they'll allow stand your ground laws to apply to people who didn't chase someone down with a gun.

No. I dont care because its being used to stir the pot. The dudes need to fry for all I care, but this is a, "we got you whites now" situation because of two rednecks.

No Way. 1st degree murder is totally applicable here. They coordinated and initiated the fatal encounter. These baws will be lucky to plead to 2nd or 3rd degree murder. No shot they walk, they going to the pen where they belong.

Because they were performing a citizens arrest and simply possessing a gun isn’t lethal force in itself. What happens if you grab a police officers gun? No they aren’t cops but citizens arrest is legal and as dumb as it was they didn’t break the law. Should have let the cops handle it but a dumb decision doesn’t mean a law was broken.

horseshite.
It would have been an illegal arrest if they had been cops.
You can’t repossess your own property using guns. Your telling me you can use them to protect someone else’a property on suspicion?
Give it up, baw.

I'm having a hard time understanding the video. The idiot is jogging behind the truck and then he decides to pass around the truck and fight and grab for the guy's gun. Call me stupid but if that's me I'm hauling arse either through the homes or the other way. If he shoots unprovoked so be it. By him coming after him you know the defense is gonna be stand your ground
No, he tried to go around the truck and the idiot with the gun came around to block him with a shotgun drawn so he lunged at the idiot to try to disarm him, he didn't have a lot of options at that point...

Actually it is not. But, let's just wait for the "rest of the story" to unfold. I have a strong suspicion ole Ahmaud wasn't out jogging.
edit Them ole boys may very well have been planning on shooting Ahmaud. Knowing that and proving it are all together different.

Oh? How so? Mcmichaels described the events as he saw someone running, and given the recent break ins he coordinated with his son a confrontation that resulted in homicide. That can be viewed as 1st degree. 1st degree doesnt need to explicitly include plans to kill, it includes events that lead to homicide.
I’m just going off of mcmichaels own description of events and the video.
Even if Arbery was guilty of a felony, Mcmichaels described no immediate knowledge of a felony, nor was he present to witness the felony to justify a citizens arrest according to Georgia law. Stand your ground doesnt apply to the person initiating the violent confrontation, which mcmichaels said he initiated.

So no, they were wrong.
