My uncle was in the ER with Covid last November. They told him if he went on the vent, he wasn’t gonna make it. He was like, uh, what we gotta do to NOT do that then? They just gave him oxygen.

No doctor said that...

quote:

Wife gets desperate, asks doctor if he can prescribe ivermectin.

DR !laughs! and says "It's too late, sorry it won't help him, I'm not prescribing it."

Wife reaches out to all her acquaintances for help and finds another local DR willing to prescribe within 2 days.

So, homebody was in the hospital(in ICU i'm guessing?) under a doctors care. Some rando doctor prescribes horse dewormer and the ICU doctor just lets them administer it?

I'm not doubting your story but I'm fairly sure that's not how that works.

Maybe a hospital doc can weigh in on this...

I'm not jumping to conclusions, but this cat was deemed on his last days and ivermectin helped him pull it out. How the frick could the original DR not even try?

Sounds like basis for incompetence and/or malpractice. Sue the pants off the Dr.

Another anecdote, I’ve got a shite ton of people who took ivermectin dying in my ICUs right now.

Anecdotes are meaningless, and there are very large well powered prospective trials of ivermectin ongoing that will pretty definitively answer this question one way or another. Mechanistically, it’s fairly implausible that it works and the early reports from the trials are that the data is not promising. We’ll see I suppose.

you do realize that ivermectin is approved for human use correct?

FIFY--Ivermectin is Ivermectin, whether it's mixed in an apple flavored paste or in pill form. It's the same chemical.

I'm sure you know that, but I'm saying this for the people who think it's somehow a different chemical if you buy it otc.

I’ve heard the same, people are just sitting around with no real plan of treatment.

You would think, right? Doctors were/are taking a positive-testing COVID patient, with symptoms, and tons of underlying health issues, and sending them home with, "If it get's worse, go the ER" plan of care.

Or just maybe this story isn't fully true, lol.

At this point, anecdotal evidence has a better track record than the CDC, FDA, WHO and the Elitists pushing the jab....just sayin'....

Didn't Trump pass the right to try? I know that is for drugs in clinical trial phases but it just makes me angry that a drug as old as Ivermectin is being denied when those with clinical diagnoses of certain death can try drugs not even on the market yet.

What the hell? What an incredibly odd statement.

plenty of people believe its for animal use only was my point. it's not hard to get thru a pharmacy...rather than go to Tractor supply and have people, who can't do basic math. try to administer the proper dosage

I thought the same thing. Apparently it was his observation from other patients who eventually died with the diabetes/covid combo and lung issues.

I've heard this story before. In fact, this is the 6th instance of a Dr. refusing a family's request. And it saddens me that medical community has abandoned their patients needs, in order to toe the line fed to them by their pharm reps.

What harm could it have possibly done for this Dr. to give the family the peace that goes along with trying that treatment? The man was dying. The same can be said of the 'doctors' that post on here, and openly mock anything their narrative goes against.

If you come across someone that does this to you in a medical setting, move on. They are not in it for your health, but their personal wealth.

Here’s the thing, what science is this? This term gets tossed around all the time because it is ubiquitous and hard to hammer down someone for being wrong. It’s done as a cop out! It’s very frustrating because the “science” on every aspect of Covid and the vaccines has been changed and politicized.

Yeah can't disagree with this. When I say science I'm meaning factual beyond politics that really no one who has an agenda can argue with.

It's just a weird timeframe. 5 days is an eternity with this illness.
