So, let us use BMY as an example.
I certainly Acknowledge that he is left of me. Not terribly far left of me, but left of me. Let’s call him a center-left a libertarian to my center-right libertarian
He is also one of the most articulate and logical posters on this forum, whether you agree with us his position or disagree with it. And I DO disagree with him at times.
Yet the vast majority of the “right“ posters will attack his positions without giving them so much as a reasonable hearing, and they act as if he is located somewhere out to the left of Mao.

Definitely not all, I have just recently agreed with him twice. It really depends on what he or any of the other ones says. I guess that goes for anyone.

I'm not even some huge Trump defender but -
1) Yeah I'm sure Trump was personally intervening to keep black people out of apartments.
2) Trump got ahead of himself in a city where he was a god, like a shite ton of other people at the time
3) He called some people crossing the border criminals and rapists. And that's true. It's incendiary and not a great way to constructively talk about the issue, but you're being overbroad and doing so intentionally.
4) He could outright say "the only thing we can really do is to keep Muslims from coming into the country" and it still wouldn't be racist. Muslims are the only serious external terrorist threat the country faces. It's dumb policy, but probably not racist.
5) Obama is a shitty American. He wants to change how America works, thinks and behaves in a way that will fundamentally undermine how we've been a successful and brilliant nation.
6) He said there were good people on both sides. And he was probably right. The idea that everyone in Charlottesville on the right was some neo-nazi in a white supremacy organization is stupid.
7) David Duke thing was dumb on his part. He's an egomaniac who doesn't like to be backed into stupid media-driven corners.
8) Telling them to go back to their country was also stupid. But these are women who dislike most of what America represents. He should have just called them awful human beings and encouraged them to collectively go frick themselves.

A good debate does not happen when absolutely every participant is saying the same thing. The quality of a debate increases when someone tries to find ways to make other participants look at the question from a different perspective.

I have not once seen a legitimate competing viewpoint that is actually worth a shite.
