Disagree. He showed at the end of last year that he can still hit.

Broke his hand again at the end of last season. He has also been severely declining in sprint speed, arm strength, and defensive range for years now. He's 29, but he's an old 29.

I agree with this but people forget he's still only 23

That's about how old Francoeur was when the league figured this out about him, too.

Like Ozzie(same injury), it takes 18-20 months to fully recover from the hamate bone, I think he's going to have a huge year

Riley wasn't very good in 2024 before he got hurt, either.

Hope y'all enjoyed 2021 because the Dodgers just signed Kyle Tucker.

Maybe the biggest flaw on this team is they allow too many offensive rebounds. 12.2 OREB allowed per game is 7th worst in the country. They have to clean this up.

Well, damn. Ended up losing because of this tonight.

3 times in the last 8 or so seasons, IIRC

If Indiana loses this game, is it up there with 1998 KSU, 2007 WVU, and 2011 Oklahoma State for most soul-crushing losses in CFB history?

I don't think I'll ever see a loss crush a program more than 2007 WVU losing to Pitt.

Miami doesn't have nearly the offensive skill player talent that Ohio State team did. They also don't have Urban Meyer drawing up the gameplan.

That Ohio State team was a threat to score on any down from anywhere on the field with how explosive they were. Even though Toney is really good, Miami hasn't shown that ability this season.

Maybe it’s the death of the NFL and college football takes the top spot. It would take 20 years to see that but I can see it.

If this starts even remotely happening, the NFL will remove their 3 years out of high school draft eligibility rule.
Seems like it really hasn't been the same in Pittsburgh since they lost that playoff game to the Jaguars in 2017 after they spent the entire week of the game talking about their upcoming rematch with New England.

Harbaugh has done nothing but ruin Herbert.

When does the blame fall on Herbert himself? He has been underwhelming ever since his Oregon days.
That felt like Detroit's loss to Washington last year. Absolutely demoralizing for the Jags.

That is an awesome YouTube channel if you like watching old sports clips like I do.

Our screens seem to all look the same and rely more on good receiver blocking than any deception.

A lot of our screens look like option plays to me. Instead of QB keep, Gunner has the option to give it to the RB or pull it and throw a screen based on what the numbers dictate.

Truth is showing…. We always get everyone’s best shot and they always play over their heads against us. We are everyone’s Super Bowl.

Our defensive talent has fallen off a cliff. Devonte Wyatt was the 4th best player on the 2021 defensive line. He would be the best player on the entire roster this season.

We weren't their "Super Bowl." They whipped our arse in the trenches.
I still think a shake up trade to inject some new blood into the lineup was the way to go. We're now seeing the very predictable downside to signing so many guys to long contracts.

The Braves are banking on four guys to return to 2022-2023 form when we probably need to accept that version of these guys is gone and not coming back.

We have no idea what Strider is going to be going forward, but the track record of guys with two major elbow operations returning to their previous form is not good.

Albies is physically cooked. Harris has no pitch recognition. Riley has not been the same since Mike Brumley died.

I'm definitely not opposed to more explosive plays, but Georgia's offense actually was ruthlessly efficient this year

I know they were. It's just that being more explosive gives you a greater margin for error. If the offense didn't win on first down, it was really tough sledding. That's what we saw when they couldn't move the ball on 5 possessions with a chance to extend a 21-12 lead. Ole Miss started selling out to stop the run and Georgia couldn't make them pay over the top.

It is really, really hard to consistently go on 10 play scoring drives throughout a game. Hitting 40 yard chunk plays reduces the number of plays an offense has to execute to have a scoring drive.

Originally I wanted to fade the presumed most picked team, the Rams and go with New England.

But now I'm scaring myself by seeing they had the 30th hardest schedule in the league. Are they a phony 2 seed? No playoff experience (outside of the coach). Are they ready?

I wouldn't touch the Chargers/Pats game with a 50 foot pole. I think New England is better, but they've played a soft schedule and QBs making their first career playoff starts (Drake Maye) do not have good records in the last 25 years or so.

Packers/Bears - Rivalry game, wouldn't touch this either

Bills/Jags - Bills as a road favorite will be a popular pick straight up this week, but their run defense is absolutely atrocious. Something like 30th in the league. That doesn't translate well to playoff football.

Texans/Steelers - Houston is better, but I'm not confidently picking against Aaron Rodgers in a home playoff game. Also, Pittsburgh has not lost a home Monday night game since before the Texans were founded.

49ers/Eagles - If you're looking to avoid the Rams, I'd probably go here. Like New England, San Francisco has a GREAT coach but has played a really, really soft schedule. The 49ers are beat to hell and back. Ton of injuries. I also think the Eagles have another gear they're about to get to; they have seemed like a bored team waiting for the playoffs to start.

That said, I'd go with the Rams. I have learned a lesson over the years. Don't overthink survivor pools. Just try to get to the next week. Yeah, Carolina beat the Rams a few weeks ago, but that was a west coast team playing a 1:00 EST kickoff. I don't think they'll screw around with this one. They're going to beat Carolina's arse.
