I don't wish this situation on any parent but find it ironic that it's happening to people that have enabled the behavior the perp demonstrated.

Actually this is an interesting point.
Someone raised Karmelo.
Everyone around him jumped feet first into racism.
It is poisoning to hear the things his circle are saying as a kid.
It's quite possible he was raised in an extremely anti white environment that was non typical.
It would explain a number of things.
If the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and the tree is racist...
Again, this specific awful family may have raised a racist kid who killed someone.
You know if the situation was reverse and the white dad was a proud boy...
