So the patriots are rallying for the statue of a traitor to come down?

I have taken it to imply that the person has a strong foundation and sees through propaganda, or something.
It is used on The_Donald a lot. In any case, it is a proper noun in this instance as it is now part of his name.

Mitch better prepare to move out of Louisiana because if innocent people who are driving home are injured from his bullshite he is highly likely to have put both he and his family in a life threatening situation because there are people who will take matters into their own hands against him & his family personally. This is too small of a town for his family to safely journey without police protection given how he has poured gasoline on an open fire.

I doubt anyone would try to physically harm Mitch or his family. He may get yelled at and have some unflattering comments made in his direction, but suggesting he'd be physically attacked seems like a reach.
