It took us 3 weeks to capture Baghdad from a bunch of goat frickers. I don’t see how on earth people thought the Russians were going to take Kiev in a weekend.

The Ukrainian military will not defeat the Russian military
Who said this?

I simply don't believe Kyiv's defenses are comprised of a bunch of citizens led by General Zelensky. Neither should you. Russia could crush Ukraine if they chose to, that's not debatable. But they're not helpless nor would they ever need citizen militias to defend their capital. That narrative is being drummed up for sympathy. It's dishonest and unnecessary. A sovereign nation being invaded under pretense is enough for sympathy.

“The media talked up how Iraq had the third largest army in the world. There’s a BIG fricking drop off between two and three.

For example, the fourth largest army in the world is the Hare Krishnas and they already control all our airports.” - Sam Kinnison circa 1991

Ukraine's military is roughly the same size as Iraq's.

Egypt's military is over double the size. Good luck to them if they try to invade Israel again, who is smaller.

Egypt’s military, historically, may have had nice toys but was run by fricking idiots who got their jobs because of who they were related to rather than competence.

These Ukrainians soldiers were all in the Russian military until 1994 so they know about Russian’s military techniques and strategy.

By all the news stories it appears that Ukraine has no organized military. They showed people making Molotov cocktails. Have we even heard who the military leaders are in Ukraine. They are handing out guns at what looks like the police station to the general public.

That was 28 years ago. I doubt many who were in then are still active duty or even reserve. They would be over 45 years old....

So now they are civilians in line collecting kalashnikovs and making Russias infantry bleed.

The difference in air power is off the charts, as Russia has total air superiority now.

Really? How do you know this?

None of this makes much sense. Why do these cities still have power, water, internet? Russia has the capability to take all these things away but hasn’t. When I think of a city under siege that is sortof minimal on what comes to mind.
