How do you mistake your pistol for a taser?

Not everybody is cut out for this. Given the political climate, tension and general dark cloud looming over law enforcement, her nerves may have gotten the best of her.

When I served at our academy, we did the best we could to put as much stress and pressure on recruits to make sure they can still perform under duress. I wasn't military, but I imagine it's not too dissimilar.

Sadly, there's only so much stress you can apply in the military or LE. You can't recreate a violent encounter. We had (at the time) a FATS machine which we made use of often. For better or worse, getting shot in FATS means you get to go on to live the rest of the day.

Here, an officer did not absorb and apply their training and the cost is one life, one career, and dozens of others (on both sides) unalterably changed.

Who tazes someone in the head?

I was loading my groceries at the Wal-Mart on Veterans in Kenner several years ago and saw some short and fat cop chasing this dude through the parking lot. He fired his tazer at him eventually and a bunch of us went over the make sure the cop was good when we saw that one of the prongs went into the perp's eyeball.

Every time we have one of these things, nearly all black "leaders" start talking about the sad state of affairs that they need to have these conversations with their sons on how to behave when pulled over.

As usual, that's the wrong way to look at it...because if they were actually having these conversations and their sons were taking them to heart, most of these things would stop immediately. I have an 18 year old driver, and I'll be showing him this video NOT as anything to do with racist police, but with what NOT TO DO if/when pulled over by police!!! I'll be showing it to my nearly 14 year old for the same reason.

Keep in mind, I've already had this conversation multiple times, but this is a great example and it ought to be used as such. If this kid had simply not jumped back into his car and began resisting, he'd undoubtedly be alive and at home today.

Exactly, she was out there witch huntin’ him. He complies, kneels on the ground, puts his hands up and says don’t shoot and she just starts blasting. Typical 5-0.

are white Women cops more dangerous because they opt for force too soon in the presence of black males?

Yes, they have guns. Do you have any data to support there being an inability to successfully subdue suspects given women on the force?

This is why we need to invest in better policing and training...paying more to hire and retain quality officers....not defund the police like these idiots are suggesting.

Or have less laws. Less criminals. More freedom. It may not work in the city but it works well in the country. I don't live within hours of a big city but we don't really need any law. Good luck breaking into any of my neighbors homes

Simple questions, sir....

Is it better to be stronger or weaker?

It's a yes or no. We don't need to get into fantasy land where we pretend guns can perform human functions.

I will agree if the perp is running and they aren't near anything of their possession that could contain a gun. But if you ran from me, and were within reach of grabbing a gun, I'm not taking the chance of a tazer stopping you from killing me. You are getting the real deal. That's my survival instincts kicking in. And if you are honest with yourself, you would likely do the same.

100% she actually mistook as a taser. No fricking way she knowingly pulls a trigger with her partner in-between like this

LINK

*Also not saying its ok to not know her weapons.*

Or was she on the other side? I cant even tell..

Let's take a step back in this scenario and imagine that we have the kind of society where a woman like this is at home raising her beautiful children and caring for her family rather than chasing around violent criminals and getting into physical confrontations with grown fricking men.

Why can't we have that?

When you train officers you can tell QUICKLY which ones have 'it' and which ones don't. It is a natural born instinct / street smarts they are born with. Training just sharpens skills and tactics. The problem is the pool of applicants is pitiful. I'm sure the ones in these big blue cities are even worse. They tend to focus on things like "diversity" instead of exceptionalism, and finding those that can do the job, regardless of their race/sex. I don't know her but this is an example of an individual that has no business in this line of work.

This don’t completely fit the “didn’t comply, your fault you die”. No weapon & she mistook her gun for a taser. She’s fuuuuucked.

Prime example of “why would anybody want this job?”. Look how quickly and easily a probably normal and good person can have their life fricked by one simple mistake. Front lines ladies? Have at it
