If you’re going to do it, do it tactical like the antifa scum do. Keep one or 2 guys off to the side roaming, sending you messages on recon of what’s going on behind the front lines. And if the communist come at you your boys can flank your attackers. Good day to be a patriot

Personally, I opose removal of these statues because they are part of history ... good or bad. But I do not see it as either a Constitutional matter or one of “patriotism.”
It is simply two groups with a different worldview. One wants to forget an unpleasant past, and another wants to embrace it.

I thought about heading down there myself, it’s only an hour drive for me. But then I figured the bigger deal that gets made of this, the bigger the target will be made of the statue.
Besides, if there isn’t enough decent people in and around LR to defend the statue, then it isn’t important enough for me to make the drive down there to do what they should be doing.

I’d say it’s more like one side wants to erase and reinvent history, 1984 style, vs the other side that wants to remember the past in order to learn from it. So two different viewpoints, one patently evil at its core and the other enlightened.

Have you checked with your attorney and whether you are protected under stand your ground? Castle doctrine surely doesn't apply unless you are planning on staying in your vehicle. I don't need to spend $100k in attorney's fees protecting a statue that's not mine. People can and do sue over nothing. Just getting sued and winning still costs money. I'll do whatever I have to to protect what's mine and my family but this sounds like a bad idea.

I think more of us need to stand up to the mob. There was a group in Weatherford, Tx that were trying this crap. So a counter group went to protect the area or counter protest. The BLM/Antifa crowd called the cops and the cops took their time responding and the BLM/Antifa crowd left.
