Here is a good article to better understand the county secession movement:

But there is a strong case to be made that the cross-aisle conversations which arose from that comingling of political ideologies was what once made American democracy so robust, and what now has rendered it so frail. County-level efforts to address political dissatisfaction by simply becoming part of neighboring states with more kindred political leadership only accelerate that self-sorting, further isolating Americans in their increasingly unbreachable ideological silos.
I'm guessing you disagree with the author's assertion?

I agree with that as a potential consequence but I don’t agree that will be what happens; the biggest consequence will be those areas left behind in the “blue” areas that choose to maintain the downward spiral such as Orleans Parish or Travis County, etc.

In theory, if all of these counties secede, where the hell are they going to get their money to operate without raising property taxes 1500 percent?
This is one of the most "interesting" political theories that I've ever read

Your post is illogical…
For example, Baker County, OR joins Idaho and is now
Baker County, ID.
Baker County residents now pay 5.8% income tax rate in Idaho vs 9.9% in Oregon and whatever the state millage rate and sales taxes are.
Idaho average rural property tax rate is 0.698%, Oregon is .082%.
Hopefully anyone can see that just on a financial sense, it’s a win-win for those leaving the People’s Republic of Oregon for Freeland Idaho.

I really dont take issue with the exploration of your ideas. Where I take issue is where it may lead if you dont succeed and some in your movement become desperate. There are those on this board who already think the time is well past for violent action against other Americans. I fear that sentiment is growing.

Thank you for being cordial in your responses. Despair that leads to desperation never leads to the good for men’s souls, so I agree in that sense.
The county secession movement is being conducted within the confines of existing laws and/or jurisprudence. There’s been no armed uprising nor attacks on the opposition.
The thread re MTG calling for a national secession is beyond responsible as there are too many large metropolitan areas that are progressive leaning inside conservative states.
This would deprive those population centers of a say in the move and the situation would be no different for them as a whole.
We as a society already have “white flight” and moves to suburbia/rural areas to escape the degradation / crime / policies of large cities and out of touch government institutions.
I pose back to you, as an example, the 20 plus counties in central/southern Illinois that are diametrically opposed to what comes out of metro Chicago (population base) and the state capitol…they are being threatened and rebuffed at every turn by both parties and the state govt that no longer represents their interests.
What do you think they should do if they’re not allowed to leave as they wish? It’s their land, their counties and their lives.

America was founded as a Christian nation. We’re gonna return to that. If you don’t like it then pack your bags for the Netherlands or Belgium or whatever satanic hellhole you desire
We’re gonna throw the filth the hell out of here. I’m tired of playing nice

Don’t threaten me with a good time. The communist filth has ruined our lives. Why should we tolerate them anymore. It’s us being killed or them

Why are you railing on me re: this?
And no, American is not a “Christian” nation. We allow infanticide by the MILLIONS, homosexual “marriage”, worse drug addiction problem in the entire globe, rampant griff and corruption in all levels of government, a military that is controlled by those who hate God and direct it to fight for corporate/special interests, and I can go on ad nauseam.
Still confused why you’re railing about this re: a discussion about county secession movement but God speed.

Right and we should force all of them out. I don’t want to share a country with those people anymore. It’s either peaceful or messy divorce

This isn’t Robespierre’s France…there’s a right way to do things and a wrong way to do things.
If you’re serious, then “forcing” any US citizen out of their home is definitely not from Christ. It’s Bolshivekism…not freedom.
If a county secedes and one doesn’t agree, they at least had an opportunity to vote for or against it and can move to a shrinking footprint more in line with their values.

So border counties are the only ones that can secede. Not fair!!!

Like I said it’s gonna be us or them we don’t have a choice. We didn’t start this fight by abusing children. They did

Just curious who all falls into the group of people you want to force out? What are the categories?
Posted on 9/13/23 at 1:44 pm to LARancher1991
Anyone who’s not of white European Christian decent would be a great start. They should want to leave. They hate this country. So just get out go live in the Netherlands all the weed and prostitutes you could want

Either this fella is a troll or a lost soul who needs God.
He doesn’t have a plan and is hijacking a real discussion.
