I find it hilarious that you minimize the significance of a seat in those states, but claim that the GOP could easily outdo them by reclaiming a single seat in like 6 states in the south
Yes, gaining 1-2 seats in each southern state would completely negate everything the Dems can do outside of California. If Louisiana wins its case before SCOTUS, it would be devastating for Dems, but that isn't necessary. The GOP will win this fight even without that case.
ETA: This article is a good breakdown, and is even more favorable to Dems because he's wrong about Utah. LINK

I just don’t think you’ve sat down and done the math on each state. The difference in what could be done is negligible. Handful of seats at best.
That’s not some major victory. It’s something that’s easily undone two years later when the next election occurs with lots of dollars and specifically chosen candidates.
A five seat majority in the House doesn’t do anything for anyone long term.
ETA: I don’t need an article to explain it. I’ve literally done the work myself on squeezing districts within current constitutional parameters. It’s just not the overall game changer you’re wanting it to be, and that’s with today’s politics. These things change constantly. Should we go through this every two years now? Just redrawing lines every election?
It’s already the biggest flaw in our constitution that House elections are every two years and now we want to move the playing field to make sure permanent gridlock is entrenched? I just don’t understand the perspective.
It’s time to overhaul the process entirely, make it geographically centered, and let the chips fall where they may.

It’s such a stupid spiral. It’s time for districting reform to end this stupid shite. Population, geography, existing administrative and municipal boundaries—period. Zero other factors.
Your problem is thinking the democrats would do this. They would never.

Three responses on one post, two on another.

Correct. It’ll have to be SCOTUS that does it.

I’m just waiting on you to say something relevant to the thread. Until then, since you aren’t at the plant, I’ll use job site instead. Long day tomorrow either way.

When will you realize nothing you say or do matters? Oops, second comment. I should be purged…

It’s easy to imagine a scenario where Wisconsin for example redraws their map to crack up the city into 6-7 R+5 districts only to completely shite themselves next year and end up going from a 6-2 R majority to splitting or even becoming minority. Try to gain one seat and end up losing 4. Stupid games stupid prizes.

You’re on a message board. If you don’t think it should exist, don’t frequent it. Seems pretty simple.

No it isn’t, because Wisconsin is way too divided for something like that. It wouldn’t get through. Only partisan states are able to do this.
