China can view Taiwan that way but it doesn’t make it so. These are 2 separate countries that both keep holding on to the delusion that they own the other. One is an ally the other is the free world’s main antagonist. We would definitely be involved

China wouldn’t care about occupation like Russia does. They would knock out Taiwans infrastructure by missiles and establish air dominance before landing troops. Knock out Taipei and you remove all command and control for the island. The biggest issue would be the Japanese counter attack and US/Australia response. The Chinese would be willing to see millions die to secure it.
