He was using a loudspeaker. Otherwise, he in all likelihood would have had no problems.

They probably should just have given him a citation rather than making an arrest, but it does look like he refused to turn-off the loudspeaker.

===

Be honest. If the person behind the mic' had been preaching Satanism or Wicca, would you be complaining?

Because arresting Christians for speaking will not create severe consequences. Most msm will ignore the story. Government will ignore it. There will be no massive outrage.

No, I wouldn't. As long as people aren't being a problem then I have no issue with what they are saying. And what does a microphone have to do with this? BLM literally had speakers stacked up spewing their hate and were never arrested.

So, you are not arguing the First Amendment.

What IS the basis of your argument?

You are either a troll or your mental capacity isn't running on all six cylinders.

Of course this is a violation of the 1st Amendment.

The arresting officer(s) and the governmental entities that employ them.

42 U.S. Code § 1983 - Civil action for deprivation of rights
Every person who, under color of any statute, ordinance, regulation, custom, or usage, of any State or Territory or the District of Columbia, subjects, or causes to be subjected, any citizen of the United States or other person within the jurisdiction thereof to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws, shall be liable to the party injured in an action at law, suit in equity, or other proper proceeding for redress, except that in any action brought against a judicial officer for an act or omission taken in such officer’s judicial capacity, injunctive relief shall not be granted unless a declaratory decree was violated or declaratory relief was unavailable. For the purposes of this section, any Act of Congress applicable exclusively to the District of Columbia shall be considered to be a statute of the District of Columbia.

Eight, actually.

You specifically said that you would not be complaining if the kid had been preaching Satanism or Wicca. Both are religions, and both are protected under the First Amendment.

So, either you were arguing something other than the First Amendment, or you think that the First Amendment applies only the Christianity.

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt that you had some elementary understanding of the First Amendment. My bad.

That very well could be the case. It depends on the local ordinances in effect. Many public places allow sound amplification up to a certain decibel level. I'm curious what the particular applicable statute lays out in this instance.

Even if there was a violation of a noise ordinance in this case, it's interesting how quickly the situation escalation in the video.

That speaker seemed pretty loud in the first video.

I looks to me like the first officer asked the kid to stop, and the kid kept preaching. Then the second officer came up and grabbed the mic' from him, escalating the situation. The second officer clearly could have handled the matter better, even if the kid was being uncooperative. For instance, the speaker almost-certainly had an off-switch.

I still think they should have just given him a citation and an instruction that he would be arrested if he continued.

What's extra scary is the number of police officers at that scene. I roughly counted 7+ including the other group of officers in the back ground.

Those temporary aluminum barricade things suggest to me that there was some event taking place or about to take place and that the large number of officers were on-hand for that.

95%+ of cops are pieces of shite who will do whatever their boss tells them to do so they can keep their *barely* minimum wage job.
