Trump declares an "national emergency" in a blatant move to circumvent Congress and do something they expressly didn't want to do. It was unprecedented at the time and there were a lot of us that cautioned against this move as an expansion of executive powers.
Fast forward to the Trump clownshow exiting left and NOW we have the Democrats considering the same strategy to usher in the Green New Deal. NEVER give the gov't more power for ANY reason. We learned that lesson (or should have) with GWB and the Patriot Act/FISA. We should have learned this lesson with Trump and his wall funding and CORONA Virus shutdowns.

Schumer is the lowest form of career politician. If a ranch owner near the border were forced to defend his life against an illegal with bad intentions, Schumer would be the first in line calling for his prosecution.
