Reading words in another language that you don't even know the translation of is pointless.

Who knows. As I said, I doubt the intent was the same as the perception. But considering CAIR and other Islamic entities regularly make comments relating to bringing America under some form of Islamic governance or leadership, the perception is not shocking to me.

But, if you know what is being said, like the pledge, then you have context and you are able to follow along. It starts to peak an interest.
And the word is "pique", moron.

Happens all the time. How do you think people get interested in things?
I became interested in trying to learn Japanese through watching subtitled movies. Beforehand, it just sounded like gibberish.
But, being able to read what they were saying allowed me to see it as a language, which in turn made me want to learn about it more so I didn't have to rely on reading all the words.
So far I know about forty phrases. And I am starting to be able to string conversational sentences together.
But hey, you're right. It is completely unrealistic.

I didn't type the apostrophe because my iPad usually fills it in for me and it saves me time. My iPad failed me this time.
But it is perfectly acceptable to start a sentence with "and". Or "but". Or "or".

You obviously already had an interest in Japan if you were watching Japanese movies. That's not an applicable anecdote.

I really hope you tell me that you use it that way because the Bible does it.

GCT is the religious thread version of Toddy.

Yes, the translation of the English word, "God", is, "Allah", in Arabaic.
That is not the point he made. The issue is not the word "God" in Arabic. The issue is the actual diety for the three religions involved (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam). "Allah" of Islam is not the same as "Jehovah" of Judaism.

Yes it is.
No, it is not. They do not basically have alignment through the Hebrew Bible (or Old Testament for Christians). Not even close.

If the word god is being used in the pledge in reference only to the christian god then it has no business being included in the pledge.

You're really not very intelligent.

Why's that? In the country's founding, you think everything referencing God was in reference to some multi-faith deity?
I understand the particular issue with God and the pledge, however, the idea that we have to eradicate independently significant historical references to God is stupid, and SCOTUS generally agrees with me.
