Just because a healthcare professional tells you to quarantine because you were exposed does NOT mean you are counted as a positive case. Only labs that test submit official numbers. So it sounds like you received good advice (quarantine Bc you may have it), but there is no reporting of numbers that includes family members.

No it didn’t, they saw a story online and via suggestibility either incorrectly perceived an incident that happened to them as identical or simply lied and claimed the same thing happened to them.
I know because I’ve literally dealt with dozens of people claiming this and many of them I could prove it didn’t happen to because I had access to their records. It’s usually a genuine misunderstanding, but a few times has been simple fabrication. They get really flushed when I can finish the story for them because it’s always taken straight from a mass email/SM post.
