I have no problem with comedians using actual comedy to poke fun of politicians. That's not what Colbert is doing though. He is basically serving the DNC by being their attack dog.

The main issue I have though is the hypocrisy from the left. If this were a righty attacking Obama by saying cock holster then the left would be in uproar in a major way because of the homophobic nature of that comment.

The left instead applauds.

Lefties, just admit that you are OK with this and you don't give two shits about being hypocrites. That's all I ask. Is that too much to handle for you guys?

It's not like Will Ferrell doing W was very gracious to W, but it was funny. It wasn't hatred posing as comedy.

Can you imagine the outrage if you switched "Trump" with "Obama?" Colbert would probably lose his job.

I think it is childish and extremely disrespectful to call the President of the United States a cocksucker on national television. I know Trump is not your average President, but Colbert totally stepped over the line with that monologue. It's a shame that his viewers ate it all up.

Agreed. Libs have upped the ante to hate comedy.

Funny thing is, people like Colbert warmed me up to the idea that Trump was still better than Hillary.

SCOTUS was the most important thing for me but people like a want, Colbert and similar libs are the reason for Trump at least in part.

The desperation in that monologue is palpable. The left unhinged.

They truly are. It's nothing like we've ever seen (at least as far as the media is concerned), yet so predictable.

My wife puts on the Today Show every morning while we are getting ready for work. The first 20 minutes of EVERY show since the election has been a negative story about Trump. In nearly 6 months of programming the Today Show has reported NOTHING positive about the Trump presidency. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not one of these people that thinks Trump is infallible and that he should be above criticism for some of his actions thus far as POTUS. However, in 6 months his administration done NOTHING good for the country? Give me a fricking break

It is an all out transparent war against Trump and conservatives. They aren't even feigning objectivity at this point. Hell, their second object of attack is Fox News. I don't watch Fox News very often, so it's not as if I'm some ardent defender of the network. But holy shite! For the last month the Today Show, immediately after ending their attack on Trump, jumps right in to an attack on Fox News. Now I fully understand there are significant allegations against some employees of Fox, but I've never seen one network television company attack another with such veracity.

Unless you are incredibly naive or willfully disingenuous, it's clear for everyone to see that their main goals are (1) discredit Trump's presidency at ALL costs and (2) eliminate any discussion/media which may be perceived as favorable to Trump and/or Republicans

Also, in case it wasn't clear, he went on this name-calling tirade because Trump called the show "Deface the Nation".

So, Colbert is the defender of all that is right and just? Ummmm, no. And don't kid yourself. he didn't go on his rant for that. he has been ranting about Trump since before the election. The schtick is tiresome.
The self righteous lecturing from the left will backfire on them. People hate it when people act "Holier than thou" and the left has been running with that for 8 years now. And they are losing all of their power and influence they had amassed.

The great irony? The no-talent, pencil-neck geek Colbert was tanking in the ratings until Trump was elected. Trump is responsible for this mediocre mutt's temporary success.

PS - It's a taped show, so the only relevant factor here is that CBS obviously greenlighted this trash. Then again, all one needs to do to gauge CBS'S venomous treatment of Trump is simply watch a few minutes of Scott Pelley.

Just a few weeks ago liberals were complaining that members of the right didn't respect a painting in the whitehouse, but somehow are good with homophobic slurs against the man who currently occupies that very same house?

You guys are acting like you're all offended with his "homophobic slur", but something tells me most gay people don't have a problem with this particular rant.

Still hilarious that you guys are disgusted with what a comedian said, yet have no problem with our fricking president making childish remarks on national television.

Just say you don't mind being a hypocrite. It'd be much more honest.

If they're libs of course they don't, but it makes them a complete hypocrite if they ever complain about gay jokes otherwise.

Speaking of childish- your point itself is childish. So and so did this so I'm going to do it too- stated like a true 6 year old. But mommmmm- he did it.

Stephen Colbert

He's an embarrassment to his home state of South Carolina. The one time he was here recently, declaring his candidacy for POTUS, he had to have so much security to protect his arse from one of the good ole boys getting him that he was told to bring his own security next time ... or better yet, let's not have to endure a "next time" with that asshat.

He completely goes over the line.

Can we agree that they're both childish...however, one is the President?

I'm pretty sure W got more than his fair share of negative press, but I don't recall him going around calling it all fake news all the time, or name-calling particular networks or programs.

Yes I will agree with that. However, it's not a very persuasive argument when one person complains about another doing the same thing as they are. (Yes, I know that's not very well written.. ha)

Maybe he should have?

I don't like Trump all that much, but there is a lot of fake news out there (both sides) and Trump is certainly entitled to go after a media bloc that is aligned against him and increasingly dishonest.
