I am saying that in every era, there are those who tout various ideas as truths and facts, when they are not.
The earth was flat at one point in time.
Free Trade was an experiment and it is failing. It's done more damage to the USA than helped.

Says who? Donald Trump, JJDoc, and ProSoundAdam. You are clueless.

I know the fantasy is “well if there is a terrific those manufacturing jobs will come back. But unless you’re talking a 300% tariff, it will still be cheaper to manufacture overseas. So at best it just gets passed o to the consumer.
It would take decades of heavily subsidized manufacturing investment to be anywhere close being able to role out something like this without a massive bump in inflation.

People starved during the Depression because the government ordered large numbers of cattle and hogs slaughtered in an attempt to raise meat prices

Again. I have seen "zero" about Trump getting rid of income taxes.
I linked it in the OP. The actual words are "lower".

When it comes down to it, He is right. Has been right. Will these polcies be great for the USA 100 years from now? Maybe not. But for now they are correct.

You are now debating points made by a poster who is attributing those points to Trump.
It's not going to be inflationary. If you would like to explain your thoughts, go ahead.

I laid it all out for you. Trump's tariff experiment was a failure. It was just a tax raise. Nothing was gained.
Now he wants to put tariffs on "most imports", not just those from China. That will be another failure.

Who would know more about economic policy in regards to tariffs? Milton Friedman/Hans-Hermann Hoppe/LVM or BlackSoundAdam?
I await your answer genius.

Not at all. The only thing you have done is to try to point out that tariffs hurt the USA.
That fact is they did not. Over all wages went up. unemployment dropped.
You will have a hard time finding a person that will say that the economy under Trump was bad for them.
Whole Picture

Unemployment was already at 3.6-3.7 when those tariffs hit. Try again.

A lot of the bump in the economy came from tax cuts. Not tariffs.

What Trump did is tax the American people for a miniscule job gain.
Like Hoppe said "To be sure, some American jobs and industries would be saved, but such savings would come at a price. The standard of living and the real income of the American consumers of foreign products would be forcibly reduced".

Appealing to authority isn’t as a compelling argument as you think. It’s actually a well known logical fallacy. Ad verecundiam.

You are aware of the logical fallacies, right?

So you don't believe on getting advice from an expert in their field. Do you not practice that when you go to a doctor or lawyer?
So you are prepared to make Trump, JJDoc and ProSoundadam your arbiter of good economic policy. Got it.

If you have to assign positions to me to win an “argument” perhaps you should reconsider your position. I never made the claim quoted above. I simply pointed out that your appeal to authority is a well known logical fallacy and that the other poster made YOU look silly in this thread. That is the extent of my claims.
I will make one additional point however. The economy under trump was fantastic.
