Lee Greenwood was pretty terrible. So were something like half of the earlier speakers.

But that is fine. The conventions are pander-fests. They aren't serious events, and frankly I'm not even sure why they are still held. When was the last time either party even had a competitive primary election?

ETA: Looks like 84 or 88 for the Democrats; 1976 for the GOP.
