My wife's uncle works for the USDA. One of the past shutdowns occurred in late fall. he was off work for 3 weeks due to the shutdown. When they finally got back to work he had to use or lose his annual vacation. He ended up being off work about 7 or 8 weeks straight and received all his back pay. Not a bad gig if you can get it.

I have samples being checked into an EPA regional lab today. If it shuts down for more than two weeks and my samples are ruined I’ll be upset. As long as they get it running within a week I won’t be bothered at all.

Yep and with the exception of essential employees, it should count against their PTO. Make those democrat fed gov employees squeal like pigs
Make employees take PTO because the idiot politicians can't agree?

Shut the damn doors until May.
Send the illegals home.

If they don’t like it, they can find employment in the private sector
