Social media is a publisher and should be held accountable under the law in the same way a publisher is. If they have something on their "platform" that is untrue and it causes damages they should be held accountable the same way a newspaper would be. They are no different than a radio or tv station...they are using publicly funded if not owned infrastructure to profit...they are categorically a publisher and should have never been viewed as anything else.
