Folks, that screenshot from Fox News shows “December 8th”. So that’s not anything from the news that has been emerging this week.
Still not sure when that screenshot was taken but that is a big difference...

The reason blackout rules exist is to entice the home team fans to buy tickets. The blackout is lifted once the game becomes a sellout (or at least 85% tickets sold 72 hours before kickoff).
What does blacking out an away game accomplish? MOST fans do not attend away games, so there is no incentive to blackout away games.
That is how the NFL blackout rules work. Not sure why MLB would be different.
