Obama paved the way for this lack of accountability. Trump is the Republican Obama.
Okay, I see where you’re going with this.
Forgiving the fact that you are missing important details and distinctions, I agree that Trump is pushing the boundaries of executive branch power in ways that are concerning.
I also agree that the use and abuse of executive power was criminally bad under Obama. When I think about the lie associated with the TAX in Obamacare, or the “Dear Colleague” letter than transformed colleges into woke factories, or the attack on Gaddafi/Libya and the subsequent Benghazi shenanigans and cover up, or Russian Collusion Hoax, etc., or Crossfire Hurricane, I get pissed all over again and weep for our constitution.
The comparison lacks though because it’s not symmetrical. The main reason is that Trump is a counter-revolutionary force. The globalist left with the woke vanguard were conducting a cultural and institutional revolution that was mostly hidden from the average voter and bypassed the regular ways of governing.
Trump is forced to do much of the same. But he can’t use the regular methods, conventions and institutions because they either are already coopted by the revolutionary left, or they are inadequate to respond to their threat.
Consider the fact that the mainstream media AND the titans of social media had boxed out Trump and his movement’s ability to communicate in the forums of political discourse. So Trump started his own media platform, invited alternative media to the press briefings, and Bless the Lord, Twitter was purchased by Elon Musk.
