In several states, yes.

Proving this is true is going to be much more difficult than people think, provided that the TOS these companies use is vague enough.
Proving anything in this realm is difficult. The law says what it says; people just want it applied.

The draft order also states that the White House Office of Digital Strategy will re-establish a tool to help citizens report cases of online censorship.
Gonna wear this sumbitch OUT.

If they are ruled as publishers can’t they just cite an anonymous source and then say whatever they want to say, that is is what CNN and The MSM does? Also, if they choose the publisher option want that mean more censoring?

Private companies do not have the right to step on free speech.
Why? Show me where there’s anything that says that.

quote:Good lord you are ignorant. Everyone agrees with this. As a publisher they can ban any view they want, but right now they are saying they are a platform and not a publisher.
A publisher doesn’t have to publish all political views, they can choose whatever the hell they want. Are political views a protected class? No? Then why can’t they ban based on that?

Why are they protected from lawsuits?
Can't have it both ways!

Ok, then they are a publisher. Can publishers not ban based on political views?
Yes, they can. We’re in complete agreement; Twitter is a publisher and can ban whatever political views they don’t like. You agree with Trump.

Maybe this will connect the dots for him.

These companies aren't consistent with their violation of terms of service, don't play stupid.

Look up what the fricking definition of a "platform" is and then look up the definition of what a fricking "publisher" is. Then stop making stupid comments and embarrassing yourself.
He really is an idiot

Yeah, you’re so dialed in on this topic you accused Trump of making lawyers burn the midnight oil in an overnight decision, then a couple of hours later you’re accusing him of sitting on it years.
That's because it came to light over that span of time that it was drawn up in 2019.
Put some ice on your texashorn hardon.

When you think about who runs the FCC... the idea they are going to be an arbiter of freedom is... laughable.
Who said the FCC is going to be the “arbiter of freedom”? Nobody. They’re going to properly classify them as a platform or a publisher; that’s all. Just like they’ve always done.

Why are they protected from lawsuits?

Exactly...Let's set up a new government department to investigate whether jackasses on Twitter are having their rights abused.

You're nothing but a gigantic waste of time. Free speech, scooter. Nobody with enough brain cells to log on to the internet is this ignorant. You continue to be willfully ignorant, which is a whole other category. Congrats. Nearly everyone has given up trying to use logic with you.
