100% correct. They have been telling on themselves this entire thread

I just don’t buy how location is going to improve production in knowledge work. It is either a management failure (they don’t have reliable metrics for tracking performance and quality) or a scheme to encourage quits so they don’t have to do an official layoff to purge payroll. Amazon has all the tools and capacity to have a flourishing WFH culture. They usually terminate their bottom several percent every review period anyway, so I know they have trusted metrics to be that draconian with retention.
I think they want to purge payroll after the holiday season and need a broader cut than their performance retention threshold can suffice. They’ll quietly return to a WFH after creating the desired or undesired outcomes of RTO.

Ok so like I mentioned way earlier in this thread.
Would you be agreeable to a more friendly work from home environment if all the bad apples are gone after a return to office and/or reduction efforts?
If you say yes then your issue is with shite workers not WFH

Majority of WFH workers are shite workers. The fact that the majority of people in this thread approve going grocery shopping and to the gym while on the clock tells you everything you need to know.

Depends on the business.
And employees.

You're so close to figuring this out.
Funny enough, it’s an HR violation at my company to ask an interviewee that will work from home if they have kids at home, etc.
All my bosses care about is if the work is done. The way it should be. I don’t need someone up my arse all day to make me work. Being a single dad is all the motivation I need.

while on the clock
What clock? No one here is saying you hourly workers should enjoy these benefits. Were saying for those of us with skills who add enough value to the organization it doesn't matter where we work. Everyone under stands the reality some folks need more supervision than earlier to prevent time theft from the hourly workers. Hell they added supervision is why I always try to pay salary employees. I'd hate going back to manage hourly folks.

You’re trying way too hard. Sorry you have a shitty office job with a micromanaging boss up your arse.
I get paid well, take pride in my job, my company, and I meet all my metrics and then some. I also get great benefits and a nice, fat PERFORMANCE bonus each year.
After working two decades in an office at 60 hours a week, plus traffic, I apologize to you jealous fricks for nothing.

Repeating the same phrases over and over is an accepted symptom of autism. Think Rainman and Judge Wapner.

You have not read this thread. I work 3 days a week, make 150k a year and love my job. This thread is about WFH fraudsters going to the grocery store and gym while on the clock. Try and keep up slave

Of course they do. I was a hero after I got that lazy fraudster fired. We threw a party the next week on the unit.

That sounds just like HR to me. Right in line with all of the other nonsense they adhere to.

So if they started expecting three times the amount of work you're doing right now, would that still be the way it should be? Without regard for how long it took to do the work?
We all know the answer.
