Erick Erickson is a neverTrumper neocon that is 100% wishy washy and flip flops to stay relevant. I wouldn't believe anything out of his mouth.
The Iranian assassination plot was never widely reported or really made it into the ears of most-for whatever reasons...
Iran has threatened every President and cabinet: but maybe not so much Obama and Biden because they capitulated to them to the point of appeasement beyond being apologists.
Iran has proclaimed death to America, Christians and Jews forever.
Cruz like most in DC is AIPAC

That being said. The divide of foolishness that has taken over political discussions of Iran and Israel is sponsored to you by AIPAC and Qatar.
The main biblical quote is Jesus repeatedly in Mattthew predominantly- warning of the signs of the times precluding his return. One of which Israel will be surrounded by great armies. Flee to the mountains leave all in the field and run.
So citing war around Israel as heroically biblical is backwards foolishness. Protecting where Jesus was born means very little when he has arisen.

Even Cruz admits Butler and Fla assassination attempts are likely not tied to Iran.
But overall Iran always has had a plot to kill and under Biden was setting up sleepers via the open border. So using Iran as an overall boogieman is easy.
