I believe this is both true and a little false at the same time. IIRC, Ford didn't take a direct TARP bailout like GM but did receive a sizeable emergency Line of Credit from TARP. Not sure if they ever tapped into the LOC though.

Ford isn't losing this much just from EVs -- their F-150s and Broncos are ridiculously overpriced -- and specialty vehicles like the Raptors are almost impossible to get -- and if available, are priced 10k to 20k + over MSRP. Try to order a Raptor Ranger and you are looking at 1 year to delivery --or just an F250 and it may take you 3-4 months for delivery.
My 2023 F-150 Tremor had the AC randomly stop with less than 1k miles -- weird clunking sounds under the right side axle -- and on the F-150 forums, this is common.
Ford has manufacturing, inventory, over-valuations, and predatory pricing issues --I could carry on, but EVs are only a small part of the problem.

Both my F-150 ecoboost made 15 mpg -- never hit 20; even on the highway -- wtf is the point of an "ecoboost" if doesn't deliver good gas mileage. My V8s performed about the same with mpg.
