I think you have a point. Most people are using computers as tools to do other jobs - engineering, sales, doctoring, lawyering, etc. Many will be replaced, but a whole lot won’t.

I'm already there. On another note, I remember when Joe Biden shut down coal mines and the left taunted the miners telling them learn to code. LMAO!!!

Crazy world. Now they will be going back to the coal mines. Hopefully it will take a while since I really believe the "coders" who work in government should be turned loose first.

Either it will be at a manageable pace, as technological change always has been, or it won’t. If it is, no sweat. If it isn’t there will be a minimum guaranteed income. That much is obvious. Without that there would be rebellion.

Chinese arent over here employing people as teachers, accountants or software engineers.

The full throttled fusion of AI and robotics means the end of majority human employment. That can only mean socialism or technocracy and likely transhumanism.

At that point the people making the machines and controlling the AI (assuming they can actually maintain control of them which I strongly doubt) get to call all the shots.

That sounds a lot more likely to be a dystopian horror story than it does post work utopia unless a whole lot changes.

No need to speak much either. You'll basically communicate via telepathy as your thoughts will quickly be sent to your desired target. All of this typing will be a thing of the past once the brain implants happen.

Not sure what Doge has to do with the AI take over.

But it has been proven time and time again that these uber-rich people have no idea what's really going on, as they are so removed from the process.

You guys say this all the time about the Ivory tower libs--it's also true for the rich folks on your side.

Elon said we would have fully autonomous cars and all cars would be electric for the past 10+ years. Well, here we are, and no one wants an electric car.

What I’d like to know is who is going to pay all those plumbers and electricians when nobody else has any income?

This is the same dude that brought you the turd that is the Cybertruck.

Everyone has hits and misses, but I don't think I will ruminate over losing to my job to AI very soon.

My worry is it will be sudden and drastic.

What if we hit the tipping point before even midterm elections? How CC would you revolt if this happened within months on a large scale?

Exactly why I foresee great deflation in the near future quickly followed by corporations owning everything. The upper middle class/lower upper class is about to be wiped out.

Vacation homes, hunting properties, private schools, everything your engineers, lawyers, some doctors, etc have been able to enjoy is about to become a fire sale.

I work for a fortune 500 company, about a year or so ago, they rolled out a an advanced version of Copilote. Over all it was very underwhelming, especially when trying to use for technical work. Two weeks ago a new AI program was rolled out that is light-years more advanced, scary how advanced. If the next roll out will have the same amount of advancement as this one did compare to Copilote, it will easily replace 50% of the company if not closer to 75%. Our field teams are also not safe as we are in the process of fully automating all of our field facilities.
