I can say with 100% certainty that the Dim voter is the most uniformed/misinformed gaslighted fool in America's history. If you had 10 voters from the Dim party and 10 conservatives and gave each group of people the standard US citizenship test my estimate is 1 out of 10 Dim voters would pass that test and at least 6 of the 10 conservatives would pass that test.

This is an excellent point. Removing that deduction hit a lot of folks in the nuts, especially in the NE (yes, F'em).

I don't think it's either of that. People in the Tri State area are just arrogant and condescending as a default. I've lived in (and visited) a lot of places. Only up here (and Cali) have I encountered obnoxious, holier than thou types in droves. It's a general attitude of "we're cooler, better and smarter than you." I've never been able to figure out why because there's nothing up here that warrants that type of aggrandizement.
