Heard a pastor relay this story once.
It was a Jewish tradition, that when dining, if you were finished your meal, you’d throw your napkin on the table to let the servants know you were done. But if you were simply getting up from the table, but planned to come back, you’d fold your napkin neatly.
John 20:5-6
And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in.
6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there,
7 and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself.
Jesus left us a sign he’d be coming back one day!
