I don't think it was broken but as a teenager I'm pretty sure I dislocated mine. I just know I couldn't raise my hand on that side to my mouth for over a month. No one would take me to the hospital so I just had to let it heal on its own which it mostly did
Mothers Finest was known for that. I saw them open for Atlanta Rhythm Section in 1980 and they ran circles around them.
Another one I saw was Saga open for Billy Squire in the early 80's and Saga was much better
