Deportations are happening all over the country. You only hear about this in blue states because that is where the commies are most active.

Where are Feds allocated at this time?

A typical allocation to a law abiding state would be less than needed now yes?

So, don’t follow the laws.
Feds come in to address the lawbreaking and then the issue is not enough federal resources…states literally created the need for more resources.
Whether it be tax payers dollars or enforcement of laws.

It’s a tough question. On one hand, you’re right. On the other, I hate the idea of conceding a state from our country. But I would absolutely support it, if it meant cutting federal funding to any state or city that declares itself a ‘sanctuary.’

No, it fits. It’s just funny the way I used your words to fit what the majority of the country wants.

And no, it’s not a terrible strategy to deport in solid blue states. They use these illegals to gain more House seats. They vote, even though it’s illegal. They drain resources.

Right now, the Left is seeing their future in this country disintegrating with every illegal that’s deported.

None of this applies to a federal-only duty/operation.

You're conflating another state-federal LEO scenario.

Florida and Texas have millions of illegal immigrants. Why not focus there?

What is the specific % from illegals being deported? I imagine very low for CA, NY, and ILL.

Opposite actually based on data through late 2025. Roughly 1/4 are coming from these three states.

Metric ICE Interior Arrests (May–Oct 2025), Pending Deportation Cases (late 2025), Voluntary Departures (Sept 2025)
California 15,531, 193,212, Est. 12%
New York 5,518, 149,912, Est. 9%
Illinois 2,807, 27,039, Est. 3%
Combined (3 States) ~20%, ~28%, ~24%

More the worry of leaks about money flow being controlled and distributed outside normal government channels.

Texas currently accounts for 23% of all deportations happening. They are working hard there

Screw the law if it’s in a blue state. Is that your stance?

if we are going to selectively enforce or not enforce the laws then who chooses and what criteria do they use?

No. What % of the population exodus from those states is from illegals being deported.

Trump isn't targeting blue states. They just gum up the works, so require more ICE presence.

From Feb–Oct 2025, red states disproportionately more ICE arrests relative to their illegal migrant population share. Large blue states like California, New York, and Illinois fell well below expectation.

That's kind of the basis of his argument in OP.

We already have to do that. There is no 100% coverage.

That depends on what's guiding the policy.

For instance, I'm still not sure why Trump decided a surge in MN was smart on the back of reporting about ethnic Somali citizens and green card holders engaging in fraud. I'm curious about the criteria/logic there, myself.

What Winnie is arguing, and I have before, is if the goal is maximizing deportations, the criteria should be based on (1) population of illegals and (2) cooperation from local/state authorities.
