I just think it’s too violent of a swing including semi-auto pistols. Only the most radical, too-far gone members of their base are gonna buy what they’re selling on this. That’s why it’s such a dumb gesture. It’s blatantly playing politics.

They know this bill is DOA. It's only purpose is to say "We put forth a massive gun control bill but the murderous republicans killed this bill. Just like they killed your children."

not true
they're going to label it an "assault weapons ban" and say "the AR 15 would be banned under this law" and that's all about 2/3 of their base will need to look into the matter

And there are many that do not. The legislation would not categorically ban bolt actions unless they had some other “assault” feature, like a detachable magazine, flash hider, or a ‘shoulder thing that goes up’ (god forbid)

Oh I know. I've also have a model 700 that doesn't. I was just pointing out that the narrative was "we aren't talking about your hunting guns", but in reality they are.

They may as well also introduce a bill that prohibits politicians from accepting contributions from the NRA. Toss in that little piece of red meat while they're fake virtue signaling.
