Just a matter of time before the Dems propose changing the name of our capital because the guy it is named after, owned slaves.

I predicted that and all these other things back when that POS Dylan Roof shot up the black church and the calls started coming for banning the Confederate flags. I was in the rotunda in the Capitol 10 years ago, and knew those statues days were numbered then

I knew that once the left accomplished taking down the confederate flags, the demands would never stop.

Never voluntarily give up your rights to free speech, or any other rights they have set their sights on

Nothing good ever comes from surrendering to their demands.

More than 90% of Southern men served in the Confederate Armed forces.

They were the best of us.

At the time, sure. But they lost and were fighting for slavery in large part. How is this any different than Nazi party official statues still being seen in Berlin?

Part of southern culture at the time or not, slavery isn’t far off from killing Jews as the Nazi party did.

There’s absolutely no comparison.

I reject it completely.

The overwhelming majority of Southern men were fighting to keep an invading army from destroying their homes. The bulk of Confederate soldiers were themselves victims of the Southern aristocracy's feudalism. This kind of take is absolutely enraging, as it ignores the fact that the North had no qualms with Southern slavery, insofar as the Union remained perpetual in nature.

Fighting a war to keep a human on your plantation to pick your cotton for you isn’t a comparison?

I bet you’d have a different opinion if you were black.

I said in large part. Slavery played a large role and to deny that is foolish. I know it wasn’t the sole reason but without slavery is the war ever fought? Doubtful.

I bet you'd have a different opinion if you were a jew in Germany and they threw you out of plane to test new types of parachutes. Or if they took your baby and threw it in the air for target practice. Or if they made you dig a trench and then used a machine gun to kill you and your neighbors into it. Or if you were a Catholic priest and they starved you for 12 days, but when you didn't die, they injected carbolic acid directly into your heart.

Or if you had a physical deformity and they operated on you while alive without anesthesia. Or if you were a gypsy and they gassed you.

Guess what, Nazi-ism was slavery with the added bonus of they just killed you when you were too weak to work, rather than try and feed you and house you.

The Democrats see the Indian war losers as model of how bad Americans are. The fact that they want to disappear history will be itself a prelude to it repeating . The constant search for something to divide and upset the populace won’t end well

Not too good at math are you? If you think there were enough slaves for every southerner to own one you’re an idiot.
